Approve Claude Code requests
without switching windows.

When Claude Code wants to run a command or edit a file, it waits in its terminal until you answer. With Gnista, the request comes to you instead: the notch opens with the command or the diff, and you answer there.

The short answer

Install Gnista, tick Claude Code, and turn on Answer prompts in Gnista. When Claude asks, the notch opens with the whole request: Allow, Always, or Deny with a reason.

With Gnista

  1. Download Gnista, open it and tick Claude Code.
  2. Turn on Answer prompts in Gnista, in Settings ▸ General. Or click Answer here the first time a request shows up in the notch.
  3. When Claude asks, the notch opens with the request: the command, or the diff with line numbers. Choose Allow, Always (the rule Claude suggests, spelled out first), or Deny with a reason Claude reads.
  4. From the keyboard: ⌘Y allows and ⌘N denies while the notch is open. Turn on Open with a shortcut in Settings ▸ General, and ⌥G opens the list from any app: Y allows, A always allows, N denies. Allow waits half a second, so a stray click can’t say yes.

Plans and questions

When Claude leaves plan mode, read the plan in the notch and choose Approve, Accept edits, or Keep planning with your feedback. Questions come one at a time, with Other… for an answer of your own.

Answering in the terminal still works

Claude’s own dialog shows at the same time. Answer either one, and the other gets out of the way. Gnista can answer it for about 9½ minutes; after that its row still shows it, with Answer in Claude. Nothing is decided for you.

Other agents

  • Codex, Devin, OpenCode, Qwen Code, CodeBuddy, Droid, Qoder CLI, Kilo Code, MiMoCode, ZCode and WorkBuddy take your answer from the notch too, and so does Kimi Code in a terminal. If you don’t answer, they ask in their own prompt as usual: at once when you go to their tab, after 10 seconds while the notch is closed, and after 45 seconds at most while you’re in the notch. The row counts down to it, and its arrow, Answer in Codex, hands the request back at once.
  • Gemini CLI, Copilot, Antigravity, Mistral Vibe, Grok Build, OpenHands and Codewhale don’t take an answer from the notch. Gnista shows what they’re asking, questions included, and takes you to their tab.
  • Cursor, Amp, Auggie and Goose don’t say when they’re waiting for you, so they ask in their own window. Gnista shows when they’re working and done.

Without Gnista

Fewer requests to answer: allow rules in Claude Code’s /permissions, or accept-edits mode (Shift+Tab). Fewer interruptions, and less oversight. Gnista keeps you in the loop without the trip to the terminal.

Good to know

  • Answering from the notch is off until you turn it on.
  • Cowork sessions in the Claude app run in a virtual machine: they show here, read from the Claude app, but you answer them in the app. Code sessions can be answered from the notch.
  • After the trial, without a licence, Gnista hands every request straight back, and agents ask in their own prompt.
