WorkBuddy,
in your notch.
WorkBuddy notifications and permission requests on your Mac
Gnista shows every WorkBuddy task in your MacBook’s notch: working, done, or waiting for permission. One click opens the task in WorkBuddy.

- In the row
- The task’s title, your prompt, the latest reply, the tool it’s running, and task progress.
- Subagents
- Shown in the row while they work, read from WorkBuddy’s record as CodeBuddy’s are.

- The credits the task used; WorkBuddy has no dollar price, context window or plan limits to show.
CodeBuddy’s engine, in an app.
WorkBuddy runs Tencent’s CodeBuddy Code inside its own window, with its own folder, ~/.workbuddy-ai. Gnista hooks in there and reads its record the way it reads CodeBuddy’s: the title, your prompt, the reply and the credits used.
One click to the task.
Click the row and WorkBuddy opens that task, by the same link its own notifications use.
What it can’t do with WorkBuddy, and why.
- No Always: WorkBuddy doesn’t take rules from a hook, so Gnista answers one request at a time, with Allow or Deny, or your answers to its questions.
- Replies from the notch: WorkBuddy runs in its own window, which Gnista can’t type into.
- No dollar price, context window or plan limits: WorkBuddy bills in credits, so the row shows the credits a task used.
- Only the international app: the China build of WorkBuddy isn’t supported yet.
Connected in a minute.

- Gnista backs up
~/.workbuddy-ai/settings.jsonand adds its hooks, keeping yours. - Start a task in WorkBuddy.

WorkBuddy, asked and answered.
Can I approve WorkBuddy from the notch?
Gnista offers Allow and Deny when WorkBuddy asks permission, and the choices when it asks a question, with Answer prompts in Gnista on (Settings ▸ General).
Why credits and not a price?
WorkBuddy, like CodeBuddy, bills in credits, so Gnista shows the credits each task used, as WorkBuddy counts them.
Does it work with the China build of WorkBuddy?
Not yet. Gnista supports the international app, which keeps its settings in ~/.workbuddy-ai.
Is this Tencent’s WorkBuddy?
Yes: WorkBuddy AI, Tencent’s desktop app built on CodeBuddy Code.
How do I remove it?
Settings ▸ Agents ▸ WorkBuddy ▸ Disconnect. Exactly Gnista’s hooks go.
