Release history
Every version.
Every change.
Gnista checks for updates by itself, so you’ll rarely need these. They’re here in case an update ever gets in your way.

- Working rows: a working row shows its steps in a bar, says what the agent last said it's doing, in its own words, and opens to what the session has done. Agents already running when Gnista starts show at once.
- Screens without a notch: the closed notch is a tab as tall as the menu bar, Liquid Glass on macOS 26, that opens into a floating list. These screens and the menu bar list follow macOS's light or dark appearance. Choose where the notch shows: the built-in display, the main one, all of them, the one with the pointer, or one by name.
- Setup: five steps: Welcome, where Gnista shows, your agents ready to connect, what Gnista does in a Focus, and the permissions it needs.
- Replies and answers: replies from the notch reach agents in tmux, Ghostty and VS Code and its forks. Kimi Code's permissions, plans and questions and Codex's end-of-turn questions are answered from the notch. Two requests at once in one session wait their turn.
- More agents: Codewhale and DeepSeek Harness; Amp, Aider, Cursor, OpenHands, ZCode, Pi and Oh My Pi show the prompt, reply and tool.
- Remote machines: a Settings tab of their own; Macs, Kubernetes pods, servers that forward nothing and devcontainers can all report to the notch.
- Fixes: the list's header stays in place as it scrolls, and opening a working row no longer flickers. Requests over Gnista's socket that start with blank lines are no longer refused, and a Kimi Code or Codewhale config Gnista can't read safely is left alone.
- Requires macOS 15 or higher.
